Job Description

Locum Ready is recruiting a Locum General Practitioner to assist a welcoming practice team with additional clinics in Carlisle.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide safe and efficient GP consultations and clinical decision making
• Manage on the day presentations and routine problems within agreed appointment lengths
• Handle repeat medication queries and acute prescribing where appropriate
• Action pathology and investigation results with appropriate patient communication
• Complete referrals and care planning aligned to local pathways
• Contribute to continuity of care through clear documentation and effective handover

Requirements
• GMC registered GP with a current licence to practise and GP Register status
• Evidence of recent practice based GP work and strong clinical judgement
• Good working knowledge of NHS primary care processes and safeguarding duties
• Reliable time management and the ability to adapt to practice protocols
• Comfortable using clinical systems and working within structured workflows
• Professional references and compliance checks as required

Working Pattern
• Up to 2 days per week with flexibility on which days you can offer
• Contracted block of sessions available with the option to extend
• Choice of morning, afternoon or full day sessions depending on practice need
