Job Description

Locum Ready is looking for Advanced Clinical Practitioners in Billingshurst.

This opportunity offers a professionally satisfying primary care environment with defined pathways, supportive clinical leadership and strong operational backing. Clinics are planned with sensible templates, reliable admin support and clear escalation processes, allowing you to practise confidently at an advanced level.

Up to 4 days a week available, with flexible session allocation.

Role Snapshot
• ACP sessions providing advanced assessment and management of acute presentations, with scope tailored to your competencies and local pathways.

Key Responsibilities
• Undertake advanced clinical assessment and management of undifferentiated presentations.
• Request and interpret investigations, initiating treatment plans and follow-up.
• Provide same-day triage and face-to-face appointments within agreed scope.
• Prescribe or supply medicines in line with qualification and policy.
• Work collaboratively with GPs, nursing teams and wider MDT services.
• Maintain high-quality documentation, coding and clinical governance standards.

Requirements
• Relevant professional registration and recognised ACP-level training or equivalent experience.
• Independent Prescriber qualification preferred where required for sessions.
• Demonstrable primary care or urgent care experience managing complexity.
• Strong clinical reasoning, risk management and safety-netting skills.
• Confidence using EMIS or SystmOne desirable.
• Up-to-date safeguarding and life support training.

Working Pattern
• Locum, temporary, part-time or contract options available.
• Up to 4 days per week, with consistent weekly sessions or ad-hoc blocks.
• Scope of practice and clinic mix agreed before booking for safe delivery.
