Job Description

Locum Ready is looking for General Practitioners in Colwyn Bay.

This role is designed for clinicians who value well-structured clinics, manageable workflow and excellent administrative support. Practices are set up with clear appointment templates, experienced reception teams and streamlined document processes, enabling you to deliver high-quality consultations efficiently and safely.

Up to 4 days a week available, with flexible session blocks.

Role Snapshot
• Sessional GP work with a balanced mix of same-day and routine appointments, supported by strong admin and clear escalation processes.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide safe, patient-centred consultations across a range of presentations.
• Manage acute illness, chronic disease and preventative care in line with guidance.
• Prescribe appropriately and undertake medication reviews where needed.
• Action and code results, referrals and correspondence within agreed timelines.
• Work collaboratively with nursing and allied health colleagues in the MDT.
• Apply safeguarding and clinical governance standards consistently.

Requirements
• GMC registration and inclusion on the GP Register.
• Current performers list status.
• Experience in UK primary care with confident independent decision-making.
• Good working knowledge of EMIS or SystmOne preferred.
• Up-to-date safeguarding and resuscitation training.
• Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, organised approach.

Working Pattern
• Locum, temporary, part-time or contract options available.
• Up to 4 days per week, with AM or PM sessions and regular weekly patterns possible.
• Session length and workload expectations confirmed before booking.
