Job Description

Locum Ready is looking for Practice Nurses in Llanishen.

You will join practices with structured nurse appointment templates, efficient reception support and clear clinical leadership. Sessions are planned to run smoothly, with protocols in place for immunisations, wound care and chronic disease monitoring, helping you deliver consistent, high-quality nursing care.

Up to 2 days a week available, with flexibility to pick up ad-hoc clinics.

Role Snapshot
• Locum Practice Nurse sessions focused on treatment room activity, immunisations and selected chronic disease support based on experience.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver treatment room services including dressings, wound care and infections support within scope.
• Administer immunisations and vaccinations in line with national schedules and local policy.
• Undertake blood pressure checks, ECGs, phlebotomy and NHS health checks where competent.
• Support chronic disease monitoring and recalls as agreed for the session.
• Ensure accurate record keeping, coding and follow-up arrangements.
• Maintain infection control standards and safe cold chain management.

Requirements
• NMC registration with demonstrable primary care nursing experience.
• Competency in core treatment room skills essential.
• Cytology qualification desirable but not essential depending on clinic need.
• Good understanding of safeguarding, infection control and clinical governance.
• Experience with EMIS or SystmOne preferred.
• Compliance documentation ready for onboarding.

Working Pattern
• Locum, part-time, temporary or contract options available.
• Up to 2 days per week, with flexibility for short-notice cover and planned blocks.
• Session duties confirmed in advance, including required competencies and timings.
