Job Description
Locum Ready is looking for Nurse Practitioners in University Of Stirling.
This placement suits an NP who enjoys structured primary care clinics with strong support around them. You will work with clear protocols, helpful reception teams and consistent clinical oversight, with appointment templates that keep your day organised and allow time for safe decision-making.
Up to 2 days a week available, with flexible session choices.
Role Snapshot
• Primary care NP sessions focused on minor illness, same-day demand and selected long-term condition work, depending on your experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess, diagnose and treat a range of minor illness and acute presentations.
• Undertake clinical history-taking, examination and appropriate safety-netting.
• Prescribe or supply medicines within scope and local processes.
• Request and interpret investigations, referring as indicated.
• Maintain accurate records, coding and follow-up arrangements.
• Work closely with the wider MDT to ensure continuity and escalation where needed.
Requirements
• NMC registration with relevant primary care or urgent care experience.
• Independent Prescriber qualification preferred where applicable to the role.
• Competence in managing undifferentiated presentations within scope.
• Confidence using clinical systems, with EMIS or SystmOne desirable.
• Up-to-date safeguarding and basic life support training.
• Professional, patient-centred communication and documentation standards.
Working Pattern
• Part-time, locum, temporary or contract options available.
• Up to 2 days per week, with AM or PM sessions and occasional extra cover.
• Session structure agreed before booking to ensure clarity on duties.
